My
name is Chad. I live in a small Mid-Michigan city with my wife and two
children. I got into the pedal building world with no electronics knowledge and trying to save some money
on a new pedal. Having watched many of gearmanndude's YouTube video
demos, I finally checked out a website he had mentioned,
buildyourownclone.com. It was all downhill from there. I bought a PCB for
a Wampler pedal that I liked the sound of and sourced the rest of the
parts myself. During the process of building my first pedal I got into
designing the graphics and figuring out how to get them on the pedal
without silkscreening. I ran across a wonderful tutorial for
transparency decals at BYOC. From then on I was hooked on designing the
graphics. I quickly learned how to maneuver around Gimp and designed
several graphics before even sourcing the parts for the pedals! I still
have graphics ready for future builds that may not come to fruition.
Anyway… a few months after getting into pedal building I got the itch to design my own fuzz pedal. I had built a few clones of fuzz pedals already and another circuit from one of the dudes from the forums. I just wasn't quite satisfied with the range and versatility of the pedals. One wasn't quite hairy enough and the other had too much gain and didn't respond well with the guitar's volume. So, after a few weeks of tinkering (huddled over a breadboard on my living room floor) the 'Fat Foot' was brought into the world. I decided to do a video demo of my own, regardless of my lack of chops, and see what others thought. Having corresponded with gearmanndude a few times via email, I sent a link for my video to him just to get his opinion. Well, much to my surprise, he offered to demo it on his YouTube page if I was interested. Uh…YEAH! This is what prompted me to build this site.

Well, that's my story up to this point. Hopefully I can bring some joy to all you pedal hoarders out there. If you buy something from me, please tell me what you think. I want to hear the good and bad. Thanks for visiting!
